Hey all - sorry it's been a minute since I posted on this news page. The roundtables have been going great!
Metal night with Drew & Melissa was great. Next time, we'll make sure to spread the word even further with some flyers at shows and such. If you have any ideas about what could convince metal bands (or maybe "heavy" bands is a better way to say it) to come to a networking function, lemme know in the comments.
Graphic Design night with Nino Batista was a hit - there were a dozen or so graphic designers present, many of whom brought their portfolios. If you're looking for a good designer, email me and I'll pass along their names.
The Meetup.com gathering was a huge success - there were over 50 people in attendance, many for the first time. If you're interested in sending messages to other musicians looking for gigs, or you'd like to give feedback about the meetups in another forum, go register at Meetup.com.
And this week's S.W.A.M.P. mixer was great - plenty of filmakers and musicians to go around.
We're working on the lineup for November, and it's going to be an exciting one - Dan Workman music will host a week, as will the Houston Chronicle and some other surprise guests. Stay tuned ...
